Beaucarnea recurvata 'Ponytail Palm'

Ponytail Palms are not actually a palm. They are from the Agave family, so treat it like most succulents.  These plants appreciate well drained soil.  It has a round, bulbous trunk which is how it got its other name, Elephant Foot. This trunk stores water, so its water demand is very low.  It is a very lived and slow growing specimen often taking about 20 years to reach its mature indoor size.

  • Light: Indirect Sunlight – This plant needs at least some natural light so place it somewhere with windows nearby.
  • Water: Thirsty – This plant can only go 1 to 2 weeks without water so check weekly and water when the top two inches of soil dry out.
